The DHS Memo: Are YOU On The List?

World Net Daily has published an article which includes the March 26, 2009 interdepartmental memorandum prepared by DHS for local law enforcement regarding the "extremist" groups of potential domestic terrorists.  The list is so lengthy it took over 10 pages in order to outline them all.

You most likely are on the list, since it doesn't appear they left anyone out, unless you are a government employee drone or work in the mainstream media.

There was an interesting paragraph regarding who it was that actually identified these potential terrorists groups:

"Definitions were derived from a variety of open source materials and
unclassified information, then further developed during facilitated workshops with
DHS intelligence analysts knowledgeable about domestic, non-Islamic extremism in
the United States."

I wonder if these "intelligence analysts" got their degrees online?  There is now an online university that is cashing in on this booming surveillance industry offering courses that can be completed in the comfort of your own home for less than it costs for two years at the average technical college.

The memo, Ms. Napoliano claims, was immediately yanked.  And I've got a bridge to sell you in Alaska.

Swine Flu Pandemonium

Throughout the news the American people are now being deluged with the news that there is an "epidemic" of swine flu with the Center for Disease Control under the Department of Homeland Security issuing bulletins and warnings now almost by the hour.

Interesting, that just as the heat was being turned up on this Department due to its activities last week due to the mass protests and demonstrations held throughout the nation with the "right wing" extremists memorandums targeting U.S. citizens due to their political ideology, a "swine flu" epidemic originating in Mexico now is the top story on most local mainstream news media.

In 2006-2007 there were 47 flu-related deaths in the U.S. of children due to the usual and normal seasonal outbreaks of flu in this country.  No true figures are kept, apparently, at the national level for adult cases.  So far, less than two dozen confirmed deaths have been attributed to this Mexican originated strain.  However, the World Health Organization has now upgraded this to a global threat, based upon those 20 deaths.  Huh?

This is also the same strain that circulated back in the 70's during the last economic crisis in this country and has been in  existence since that time, apparently.  What other health conditions were present in those who have died thus far, I would also hope would be eventually revealed - since it appears this strain has so far been far less deadly than the average flu seasons of the past, and the media circus now going on truly a little over the top in comparison.

The month of April actually is the end of flu season historically in this country, with most cases during the winter and early spring months.  Here's the graph of the actual flu season historically in this country for 2008-2009:

http://www.google.org/flutrends/

There was an update that stated now that this flu season has been the worst for "regular flu," with over 1,200 deaths - however, from the last information I obtained from CDC they don't even keep track of the deaths of adults from the flu, since there also can be contributory factors for many since it is the young and elderly that are mostly the victims due to their lesser immune systems.  Many who had this swine flu the last go around in the 70's and 80's most likely would still be immuned, since the flu virus has so many different strains in and of itself.

I wonder if such "terrorist" tactics and measures by this Department, as with its "right wing extremist" memorandum, would be reduced if the Department actually did its job and initiated adequate border security controls in this country with respect to the crossing of borders by foreigners?

After all, in Great Britain dogs are quarantined for 12 months in order that they be checked for diseases in order to protect the animal population there.

In this country, we give free Visa passes, and I wonder if the disease HIV would have ever reached our shores if the quarantine measures for immigration in this country were as strict as they are for the animals in Great Britain, or even what they were during the 1920's and 1930's, when America had its largest influx of European immigrants?

Nice segway, media.  Are you wearing masks in the newsroom?

Department of Homeland Security: Marginalizing Our Military

www.backupamerica.org

In recent interviews after last week's Tea Parties conducted throughout the nation, much media spin and reporting has been done with respect to one group of individuals who were targeted as "potential terrorists" according to the Department of Homeland Security's "right wing extremism" memorandum issued prior to these events.

The entire focus has primarily been directed toward the returning Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans and, as Ms. Napolitano commented, their susceptibility to being recruited by some of these "right wing organizations."

The attempts at marginalization of other groups, such as of the entire Catholic faith (an anti-abortion "one issue" group primarily also), victims of illegal immigrant crime and theft in this country, those that hold with the Bill of Rights 2nd Amendment provisions, war and tax protestors, and a host of other concerned citizen groups who also were included have barely even been given a nod, much less an apology.

Many other Americans included on that memo could not in any way be categorized as affiliated with Ms. Napolitano or the Department's definition of "right wing," in this not racial, but  "ideology" profiling, a great deal of which was directed toward individuals and citizen groups fighting for fundamental Constitutional civil liberties and rights.

To this writer, this attempt is nothing more than mass propaganda and terrorism in and of itself, and in attempts to marginalize our military as potential terrorists or suscepitible to supposed "right wing extremist" ideology as defined by the Department could only be due to one agenda, and one only.

To attempt to discredit them, and aimed toward silencing some of those returning veterans who just may have some more truthful information about what is really going on in Iraq and Afghanistan differing from what our mainstream media pundits have presented.

Or also to discredit those outraged at this point with their multiple tours of duty contrary to their understanding when first enlisting for this "mission" back in 2001 and the direction it then subsequently took.

Or even possibly in order to minimize the sacrifices of those men and women who are now being reported by Ms. Napolitano's very own Department of Homeland Security who are now and have been attempting to cross the Canadian borders and whose agents are now detaining and holding them for military trials as deserters, many of whom also were misled and who are now refusing to return to their active duty due to their multiple tours already within this past seven years.

I received two such reports of these detentions and arrests within the past 30 days since as a border security activist, I receive the DHS builletins released to the public.  I'm sure there are many more than what have been included in the official press releases.

If we can marginalize those returning war veterans, then we can also eventually deny them future benefits, and also continue the Washington "spins" with respect to this ever-increasing war now under the Obama Administration, in direct opposition to his stated intentions during that two year run for office.

And also discredit some of their stories when they return as unworthy of credence if contrary to governmental press releases and spins this past seven years.

This by the members of this Administration from a candidate who painted himself as the agent for "change" and the "Anti-Bush" who has now spent more under that unaccountable bank bailout he was instrumental in passing with those others in Washington last September.

Mr. Obama has now instead enlarged the number of troops and war in simply moving the troops around the Middle Eastern chessboard and continued its funding in the budget and even an 83 billion supplemental appropriations bill, and has assisted in plunging along with the past and present Congress our nation into more debt than the last four presidents and administrations combined.

This is and has been a Democratic Congress working alongside the Republicans in ignoring the American people now on every level, and in now calling war on its own military and citizens who are outraged at such misrepresentation and conduct.

To make matters worse, at the same time this country was floundering economically, this new Administration and its corporate backers instead staged an inaugural that puts some of the coronations of the Crown Heads of Europe to shame.

The result has been that in less than 100 day later this country is continuing to further sink into the economic quagmire Washington itself created in September during the manufactured bank "crisis" when Mr. Obama was a member of the Senate Club in the Bush Administration.  While the media fudges on the approval ratings due to their corporate loyalty to this bi-partisan collusive effort.

With all the "crisis" that have occurred within the past eight years alone now in this country, I'm wondering if all of them don't simply work for the networks and their owners under contract for ratings and their advertising revenue.

It seems to me that what has occurred the past eight years has been Washington's version of The Fear Factor - only the citizens are the unwilling participants.

What simply has occurred is that once elected, Mr. Obama threw money at the problems, and then began his domestic and foreign carbon emitting, energy depleting and expensive road trips to sell the American people on Washington's ever increasingly outrageous "fixes" and policies.

In the process then apologizing to the globe, and a bowing to a British Queen and Saudi King, whose very citizens were reported and responsible for the largest massive attack and civilian casualties in this country post World War II.  And while our own southern borders and states are under attack, providing Black Hawk helicopters rather than securing again our own borders rather than Iraq's.

And then returning for the White House dog debut.

So how low can Washington continue to go in now not only declaring war on the majority of Americans in this "terrorist" bulletin, but also declaring war on its own military veterans? "

"Mea culpas" are not going to get you out of this one, Washington bureaucrats. Public apologies to every single American in this country by the President, Vice President and all 535 members of Congress and federal bureaucracy and resignation at this point just might do it. But only might.

After all, the Sergeant-at-Arms in both the House and Senate are there for a reason and function, and this position is not simply a ceremonial one.

Department of Homeland Security "Politically Profiling" Americans

In advance of the Tea Parties that were held throughout the nation, the Department of Homeland Security had issued several memorandums across the country to state and local law enforcement officials in conjunction with the National Fusion Centers targeting and profiling various individuals and groups labeled "right wing extremists" based merely on political ideology. For several articles with respect to the political furor this has caused, please see:

http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2009/04/16/politics/politicalhotsheet/entry4949431.shtml
http://voices.washingtonpost.com/federal-eye/2009/04/napolitano_comments_on_right_w.html

In fact, included within these memorandums was this open ended and rather broad definition of "right wing extremists" according to the Department:

"Right wing extremism," the report said in a footnote on Page 2, goes beyond religious and racial hate groups and extends to "those that are mainly anti-government, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely."

"It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration," said the report, which also listed gun owners and veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars as potential risks."

For those that were critical of the Bush Administration's Patriot Act, and also the "racial profiling" objections which have been raised with respect to the illegal immigrant situation, it appears the Obama Administration has done one better. It is now profiling individuals not on nationality or country of origin, which might be at least a little more understandable given that there are many foreign nationals living in this country, but simply on native born or naturalized Americans political ideology itself - a protected and enumerated right under the U.S. Constitution given U.S. citizens.

For those in our federal, state, local and city government, please view the below law which has been codified enforcing the Constitutional rights of all Americans granted in the Constitution to freely associate, assemble and speak their political minds no matter how "extremist" it might seem to others:

Under U.S.C. Title 18 Sec. 241 242 all governmental Federal, State, City and County officials,

"Whoever, under color of any law or color of office, ... willfully subjects any person ... to the deprivation of any rights ... protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States ... shall be fined ... or imprisoned not more than one year, or both."

While the Republicans now are playing outraged victim somewhat also, since there are many within its ranks that are also "liberal" in Constitutional construction in numerous areas, no word has been mentioned by the mainstream media or those Republican members that in late 2007 the entire U.S. House of Representatives, with the exception of 35 members, passed another one of their behind closed doors "Acts," the "Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Act of 2007."

This Bill is still pending in the Senate as far as can be ascertained, although monies in order to fund the provisions in the bill and agencies which would be involved in enforcing this Act were also included within the stimulus bill - and are being utilized obviously by the Department of Homeland Security for just such purposes.

While the Senators now are free to moan and yell, keeping their political hands, as it were, clean. Although, of course, the Senate also passed that stimulus bill with those funding provisions. And the recent budget which also included sums for DHS operations.

So, again, we have politcal posturing for the American people on both sides of the aisle for another clear violation and attack on American's civil liberties at its core, by all "liberal" governmental officials on both sides of the aisle, who clearly "hate" the Constitution and now all those Americans that support those civil liberties, freedoms and protection against government granted under it, and are now no more than a "hate group" in and of themselves.

Clearly not representatives of the people in such positions due to the sheer number of individuals such broad language encompasses and targets - anyone really outside those holding high federal office and policy makers.

Individuals who would not even be holding office at all right now unless those "radical" founders had not fought against foreign control and dominance, in that original war and resulting Constitutional convention - they died to give Americans those privileges and rights and as a "check" against the government itself.

The even more strange part is that the only apologies that are coming out of Napolitano's office are those allegations against the Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans. She is standing by the memo in all other respects.

No apologies to the millions of other Americans also who have been "politically profiled" on the basis of their political ideology and Constitutional positions with respect to the right to bear arms, free speech and assembly, property protections, criminal and civil rights rights due process provisions and protections as set forth in the Constitution and intended by those founders.

In fact, the memos themselves have "labeled" and removed "due process" in branding Americans due to political ideology and positions that are not in accordance with governmental "unconstitutional" policies criminals even when no actual crime (injury or property loss against another) has even been committed.

It appears this Department and Washington has lost its way in defining just who the real terrorists are. Americans, or as demonstrated by 9/11 and the now southern border situation, foreigners?

For any interested American, the link for the Senate version of the "Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Act," pending in the Senate (but funded under the stimulus) is below. The House, version, which passed 400-35 was originally sponsored by Jane Harman (D-CA) and several other Democrats, but obviously had overwhelming bi-partisan support.

And while the outrage which has resulted has been directed toward the veterans inclusion, clearly in the language contained it also targets the entire Catholic faith, victims of illegal immigrant property and violent crimes and border security advocates, gun owners, in fact nearly three fourths the U.S. population by the satisfaction level of the American people now with those serving on the Hill and in Congress and their continual Constitutional violations.
